Their Song by John David Meadows
Their Song
He sits alone
In the shade
His mind begins to roam
Recalling happier days.
Blank face turns into a smile
Even a light chuckle
He grins for a while
Begins cracking his knuckles.
Rubbing his old hands
Taps on his ring
Still wears his wedding band
Lightly begins to sing.
"Unchanged Melody "
It was their song
Lost now in misery
Death has left him all alone.
