Poetry Series by Anthony Ward
Aurora
I see those energised particles
Colliding in the upper atmosphere
A composite of colours
Of spectacular coronal flare
Abiding the poles around the equinoxes
Where visible winds display a merry dance
Of verdant oxygen and violet nitrogen
Blushing at high altitude in the electric sky
As the chromatic curtains gently sway
In anticipation of the drama about to unfold
Across the astronomical twilight.
The Garden
My garden aspires to be most jubilant in the morning
When foliage appears denser from the dew.
Reflective tears dissipate lachrymose disparity
Like captured moonlight suspended upon silken webs
That become tentative to the foreground.
While constellations of sky-blue clusters
Scintillate so I can remember their presence.
The avifauna transcribe their transience in residence
Amidst aromas emitted from curtseying colours
As the sun approaches the meridian,
Having resolved their quandaries of nuance
To ascertain their own domain.
When all that has motion ceases,
And all that is remains still.
Waterside
Moonside lake
Bold bush trimmings
Southern dances on quivering water
Blue exquisite momentum
Warm sighing breeze
Whispering trees
This is the scene of curious chaos
Calm concoctions
And natures stand.
As the waters rest
Through harmony and tranquillity
Always calm
Never disturbed nor dubious
In the still of night
You can hear
Perched behind the curtain of trees
The waters melancholy
Beneath the moon
In the clearing of summer obedience.
