I will try to see the light by Doug Holder
I will try to see the light
This winter...
although it is hard to see
through the dusted slits
of the window blinds
it is a clandestine friend
it arrives
as a shock
of a fully cratered moon
outside my bathroom window
banality
with sudden lunar
beauty,
my cat's beacon eyes
emeralds shining
in a dark bedroom
and a dear friend
talking about
pitching a fire
in the woods
when all these
fires cease
to burn.
