The Promise by Fabrice Poussin
The promise
The hand of tomorrow mustered a miracle
inviting the stranger into the icy vault
teasing the fingertips of the adventurer.
A break in an unending storm came at last
upon a clear blue realm behind the massive wall
the universe sighed before its great deed.
A hazy vision upon an unlikely stage
and a gentle breath parted the final curtain
as life once more smiles into the darkness.
A last ovation acclaims the event
before the shroud seals the night into mystery
and the visitor disappears within her dreams.
Taken in the arms of a silky embrace
rest comes to him who listens to the soft beat
of a breast offered but for a brief moment.
