Seasons of Renewal by Lisa Tomey
Seasons of Renewal
Lose me now in misty, last rains of summer
kissing the edges of seasons, warming my heart
leaving behind persevering dripples of sweat
doors open to the scents of mud sliming away
earth once more recycles to a new season
oh fall, how you lighten my spirit and cool my brow
breezing into my existence, once more with hope
yet another season filled with joy
winter’s glow call me forth
only after I gently pace the shadows of falling leaves.
