Eyes of the Sea by Vatsala Radhakeesoon

Eyes of the Sea is a sequel to Vatsala Radhakeesoon's  Tropical Temporariness, showcasing 60 traditional haiku accompanied by beautiful photography complimenting Vatsala's inspiring words.

I found her insights refreshing and intuitive conjuring imagery that speaks from the mind and through the heart.

The authors native land of Mauritius is embedded within each haiku. It is so wondrous to see and experience this country through her eyes.

The author is very unique in her presentation of her works. They speak beauty and truth with a creative flair within a traditional and classic style

She begins her poetic journey with this first haiku and continues with so many heart drawn pieces of which I've  included a few of my favorites.

I also have to give credit to the photography chosen to accompany these works.

Golden fire now smiles
Cold baked earth heats in oven
Angry breeze freezes

Cold morning breeze blows
Sad pink rose counts its heartbreaks
Yellow bee brings love

Greenery loves sea
Mad cyclones shout at Nature
Sun restores calmness

A fragile red rose
kisses the foot of Mountain
Respect the saviour!

Sea mystifies night
Sea glorifies calm sunrise
Shells sing tragic hearts
 Sea

This collection is the perfect companion to her book Tropical Temporariness.

I recommend and suggest you read and experience both books. This is a rare and magical collection of rare insights composed of beauty and heart.
