A MID-SUMMER DAY
Evening – night draws near.
Blissful, caressing memories,
so sweet, so dear.
I watched you arise from
sweet sleep, with dawn’s light.
Morning’s dewy jewels – bright.
We walked the gardens,
tended herbs and flowers.
Bright offerings for birds and bees.
Smiling, laughing – mornings joyful be.
Sun’s warming rays to
afternoon, a guided woodland
tour led way to fairy dell and shade.
Time drifts – walking, lying on
warm, loving, grassy blades.
Shadow fingers hint evening’s
pleasures. Wine and cheese,
mellowed hues to forms blending
An easing breeze, gentle night.
Eyes close. Dreams – blissful day.
May tomorrow arise, a new, Mid-Summer Day.
Lovely poem and cadence. Exudes peacefulness.
