Farewell to the Four Elements by Kihyeon Lee

Farewell to the Four Elements

With my sight dimmed thinner,
Now I seek to see the invisible,
And, all my senses wearing weaker,
Then I reach to feel the impalpable,

Not that I deny the obvious, detached
From what they comply to accept,
Benumbed to all things secretly kept,
But still admitting I feel so attached

To you that I am made of,
Yet always more than,
And, after this life’s span,
Will be again part of,

As the Mode loosens its temporal grip,
Conceding to an Eternal Norm,
For my being out of this temporary form
Into another to peacefully slip,

Wherein my soul, with an ample atonement,
As a nourishment for my lack of love,
Shall be one with the Fifth Element
To serve the Light Clement from high above.
