Our First Smile Of The Day

I looked in the mirror

came face to face

with something beautiful 

my child’s smile

Light fills our eyes

from peals of delicious laughter

first a rumbling 

deep in our tummies 

then a sweet accapella song

a stirring in our throats

and finally an explosion 

of absolute bliss

on our scrubbed-clean-as-morning-happy-faces!
