A Single Decision by Jill Sharon Kimmelman
A Single Decision
If you found them
at your door
a crush of pale pink peonies
alluring...breathtaking... compelling...
dropped without so much as a note
near-to-wilting...
from hours without water
would you take them in
or
toss them out?
They will still bloom beautifully
releasing their potent nectar
in sweet-dashes-of-scent
because they were rescued
just in time...by you
